JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE:  DEPUTY CLERK 

SUPERVISOR:  City Clerk

CLASSIFICATION:     HOURLY; EXEMPT; FULL-TIME (40 HRS/WK); OVERTIME AS REQUIRED

SCOPE OF WORK

The chief duty of the Deputy Clerk is to record the public business of the city, keeping detailed records conscientiously and accurately for future reference and for the information of the citizens of the community. The individual in this position shall establish good recordkeeping habits and demonstrate a general knowledge of financial procedures and modern office management practices. The Deputy Clerk maintains a cooperative working relationship with city officials, employees, and the public

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Individual must be qualified under the laws of the State of Missouri under Chapter 77 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri. Residency require within limits of the city of Fayette within 90 days of employment unless waived by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

THE DEPUTY CLERK SHALL:

1) Process payroll, vendor checks, transfer checks, and required reports 2) Manage payroll system by updating and maintaining employee records

MUNICIPAL POOL LIFEGUARDS

The City of Fayette, Missouri is accepting applications for the positions of Municipal Pool Lifeguards in its Department of Streets & Parks.  These positions require certification from the American Red Cross or the National Pool and Waterpark Lifeguard Training Program.  Duties include:  lifeguard activities and pool safety.  These positions are seasonal from May 2022 through August 2022.  Applications are available in the City Clerk’s Office, 117 S.
