WEST SPRING STREET BRIDGE IMPROVEMENTS
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed proposals for the construction of the West Spring Street Bridge Improvements, for the City of Fayette, Missouri, will be received by the Owner until 10:00 AM, May 25, 2023 at City Hall, 117 South Main Street. Fayette. Missouri 65248, where at that place and time said proposals shall be publicly opened and read aloud. Any bids received after such date and time shall be returned unopened.

Copies may be obtained at the office of MEGO Engineering Co., 3120 Palmyra Rd., Hannibal, MO 63401. The non-refundable charge for Plans and Specifications is One-hundred Twenty-five Dollars ($125).
The Proposal shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier’s check drawn on a solvent Missouri bank or trust company made payable to the City of Fayette, or a Bid Bond issued by a surety licensed to conduct business in the state of Missouri and appearing on the U.S. Treasury Department’s most current list (Circular 570, as amended), in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid. The Bid Bond may be retained by the City of Fayette, Missouri, as a guaranty that if the Proposal is accepted, the bidder will execute the Contract and file an acceptable Performance Bond and Payment Bond within fifteen (15) days after the award of the Contract.
Bidders on this Work will be required to comply with the Copeland (Anti-Kickback) Act, and the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act, as indicated in the Contract Documents.
The Contractor doing the work must pay for labor at rates not less than those certified pursuant to the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations as indicated by the schedule included in the Contract Documents. The Contractor shall forfeit as a penalty to the City, Ten and 00/100 Dollars ($10.00) for each workman employed, for each calendar day, or portion thereof, such workman is paid less than the said stipulated rates for any work under said Contract by him or by any subcontractor under him. Section 290.250.
The award of Contracts on this project shall be predicated upon competitive bidding, with award being made to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. Said lowest Bidders shall be determined for each Contract by summarizing the applicable low base bids.
The City of Fayette reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive all informalities in the bids. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the specified time for receipt of bids.
