The City of Fayette seeks a dedicated professional to serve as City Clerk. This position is under the administrative direction of the City Administrator, and is responsible for managing a comprehensive office. The chief duty of the city clerk is to conscientiously and accurately record the public business of the city, keeping adequate records for future reference and for the information of the citizens of the community. The individual in this position needs to establish good record keeping habits in the areas of board agendas, preparation of ordinances, keeping of board minutes, indexing and filing ordinances, maintaining public records and complying with the open meetings law (as known as the “Sunshine Law”). The individual in this position needs to have knowledge of finance, modern office management practices and purchasing procedures. The individual in this position maintains a cooperative working relationship with city officials, employees and the public.

The Fayette Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency dedicated to providing and maintaining a safe and secure community for its citizens, businesses, and visitors. Fayette is a small college town with approximately 2700 residents. The department has staffing of 8 full-time officers with 7-10 reserve officers. Officers have 4-day work weeks, and 10-hour shifts with 24/7 coverage.
Always wanted to be a police officer but cannot quit your job to attend the academy? We are currently seeking applications for the position of Police Officer Recruit. Get paid to go to the academy! Police Academy scholarships may be available as well. This position may require a contract.
